Planning across the United Kingdom
London, Edinburgh, Cardiff, and Belfast share the same civil clock. The distinction to watch is seasonal: the UK’s local time should not be labeled GMT throughout the year. A London calendar event follows the regional rules, while a fixed UTC event keeps its universal hour.
For a UK–US recurring call, check the transition weeks as well as a typical winter or summer date. The two regions can move their clocks on different weekends, temporarily changing the gap. A repeating invitation anchored to Europe/London makes the organizer’s intended local hour explicit.
The clocks here cover the United Kingdom itself. British Overseas Territories are geographically dispersed and are not represented by the London clock. Check the destination city when planning travel or an overseas call.
For future appointments, choose the date in the time zone converter. Today’s offset is a current reference, not a guarantee about a future clock rule.

Working hours overlap: London and other business hubs
The table shows when a 09:00–17:00 weekday in London overlaps the same working hours elsewhere, in mid-January and mid-July 2026. Times are in London local time, with the other city’s local time underneath.
| City | January overlap | July overlap |
|---|---|---|
| New York | 14:00–17:00 (3 h) New York: 09:00–12:00 | 14:00–17:00 (3 h) New York: 09:00–12:00 |
| Berlin | 09:00–16:00 (7 h) Berlin: 10:00–17:00 | 09:00–16:00 (7 h) Berlin: 10:00–17:00 |
| Dubai | 09:00–13:00 (4 h) Dubai: 13:00–17:00 | 09:00–14:00 (5 h) Dubai: 12:00–17:00 |
| Singapore | None | 09:00–10:00 (1 h) Singapore: 16:00–17:00 |
| Tokyo | None | None |
| Sydney | None | None |
There is no shared 09:00–17:00 window with Tokyo and Sydney, so one side has to start early or stay late. Where January and July differ, at least one of the two places changes its clocks during the year. Use the meeting planner to test other hours or add more participants.
