Country clock

Current Time in Japan

Japan runs on one time standard across the country and does not switch for daylight saving time, which makes JST a stable scheduling reference.

Planning across Japan

Tokyo, Osaka, Sapporo, and Fukuoka share Japan Standard Time. Comparing these cities is useful for confirming a common date and time; domestic travel between them does not require changing the clock.

At UTC+09:00, 18:00 UTC falls at 03:00 on the following Japanese date. This date rollover is often more important than the hour difference when arranging calls with the Americas. Include the weekday and date in a proposed appointment.

Japan’s stable regional clock does not make every international difference fixed. If the other country changes its clocks, the gap changes on that side. Use the intended event date when comparing Japan with a seasonal region.

For future appointments, choose the date in the time zone converter. Today’s offset is a current reference, not a guarantee about a future clock rule.

Working hours overlap: Tokyo and other business hubs

The table shows when a 09:00–17:00 weekday in Tokyo overlaps the same working hours elsewhere, in mid-January and mid-July 2026. Times are in Tokyo local time, with the other city’s local time underneath.

There is no shared 09:00–17:00 window with New York and London, so one side has to start early or stay late. Where January and July differ, at least one of the two places changes its clocks during the year. Use the meeting planner to test other hours or add more participants.
