Planning across Germany
Berlin, Hamburg, Munich, and Frankfurt share one civil time. Domestic appointments do not require a city-to-city adjustment. For international scheduling, use Europe/Berlin to preserve the local calendar rule.
CET denotes the standard-time offset, while CEST denotes the summer-time offset. Avoid describing a German appointment as CET without checking whether that abbreviation applies on the event date. A local clock labeled with its numeric offset removes that uncertainty.
For a Germany–North America meeting, late afternoon in Germany can overlap with the American morning. Check each participant’s actual city and the date rather than treating either continent as one clock. Public holidays and individual working hours are outside this clock comparison.
For future appointments, choose the date in the time zone converter. Today’s offset is a current reference, not a guarantee about a future clock rule.

Working hours overlap: Berlin and other business hubs
The table shows when a 09:00–17:00 weekday in Berlin overlaps the same working hours elsewhere, in mid-January and mid-July 2026. Times are in Berlin local time, with the other city’s local time underneath.
| City | January overlap | July overlap |
|---|---|---|
| New York | 15:00–17:00 (2 h) New York: 09:00–11:00 | 15:00–17:00 (2 h) New York: 09:00–11:00 |

| Sydney | None | None |
There is no shared 09:00–17:00 window with Sydney, so one side has to start early or stay late. Where January and July differ, at least one of the two places changes its clocks during the year. Use the meeting planner to test other hours or add more participants.
